HI, THANKS FOR VISITING. IT’S LOVELY TO MEET YOU.
Since you made your way to this page, we’re sure you’re interested in finding out a little more about us. Well, read on and feel free to get in touch with us anytime.
Where does our name come from?
KONTOR, coming from the Late Middle Ages, was a foreign trading post of the Hanseatic League, often referred to as the German Hanse. After spreading via the league, the word Kontor continues to mean “office” in the Scandinavian languages . Being a shipping family using the name “Kontor” was very apt. We first started our business in a small office, that had the number 202. Hence the name KONTOR 202.
Often a Kontor was a workspace combined with a depot and living quarters. Although we don’t quite live here, it certainly feels like we do, as KONTOR 202 is our heart and blood; workspace, depot, atelier, showroom, shop, lounge, you name it – all under one roof. We do this with passion and utmost dedication. We welcome each and everyone to visit, browse around, shop for gifts, meet us, have a design consultation or most importantly have a chat with us. If you’d just like to silently admire, you’re free to do that too of course.
What do we actually do?
We are a Concept Store and Design Studio that primarily focuses on the application of preserved flowers and plants to furnish and redefine interiors. Over the years, there has been a more sustainable and environmentally-friendlier shift in the floral business where the age old problem of dying and wilting flowers has been solved with the introduction of an innovative procedure that allows flowers, plants, foliage and moss to be ecologically harvested in their most prefect state / height of their bloom and then conserved with a proprietary solution making them last for several years.
NEVER WATER AGAIN! Our preserved products require no water or any other care products. They simply bloom and “live” without any help. Some products, such as our preserved lichen, even maintain some of the benefits of the real plant.
Not only do we supply finished floral displays, green murals, wall and ceiling decor to business operators and consumers on a recurring / subscription basis but you can also buy the finished products in our shop both on- and offline. If you are looking for something more bespoke, we’re just a call or message away and can tell you right from the start that we love these types of orders. There is nothing that we are more crazy about than designing that custom-made end-product just for you.
The one thing that we are certainly very proud of is our in-house brand, CHLOE • by L’ATELIER KONTOR 202, and the therewith associated and more known Chloe Flowerbox that we have designed and concepted from scratch. The Chloe Flowerbox is a luxurious, handmade hat box and holds our beautiful of highest quality Ecuadorian Infinity Roses, handpicked at the height of their bloom and meticulously preserved to last up to 3 years. The Chloe Flowerbox serves as a gift and as an interior design statement piece and best of all there is no longer a need to source a vase.
The brand is inspired by the name Chloe, meaning “blooming” life, who just as well happens to be our youngest family member and continuously manages to inspire us.
WE STAND FOR GUARANTEED LONGEVITY AND QUALITY.
Don’t be a stranger and get in touch with us.
